I am LISA KISS. From the age of 15 I was trained in the Old Masters approach to drawing & painting.
After studying in Italy, I took a class in painting on fabric which led me to a perfect career path and a joyful life purpose: To make artworks that are not static, but move thru the world being worn!
Imagery inspiration comes from century old artists—from Hokusai to Pompeian frescoes to Botticelli, Klee, Klimt and so many more. My work was sold at Barney’s, Norstrom, Bendel’s, etc. in the ‘80’s- 2001 until I lost my studio on 9/11 and relocated to Sag Harbor. I only just came back to the work in 2018. Some designs are patterns, many are botanical, and others become illustrative thematic stories. I love doing commissioned work for organizations in which a portion of the sale goes to that organization.
